Face Oils - Are they actually good for acne prone skin?

So this is a question we struggled with for some time. Having acne prone skin, we too were skeptical about putting anything on our faces that may make us breakout.

We started doing our research, experimented with formulas and learned everything we could about how natural oils can moisturize and heal the skin without clogging pores and making us breakout.

The skin heals at a much faster rate when it's moisturized. It also helps to create a protective barrier so dirt, debris, and makeup doesn't seep into the skin.

The results? TOTALLY WORTH IT! And we don't even need to use moisturizer anymore.

We just throw on a few drops of Clarifying Face Oil after Dream Serum, and we're ready to go. We wanted to make sure this face oil didn't leave an oily residue, wouldn't make our makeup slide off our face, wouldn't clog pores, and would also make a great base for smooth makeup application (we're obsessed with healing acne, but also making sure your makeup looks 100%, whether you still have acne, or are recovering from acne scarring).

Here's what we found:

1.  Marula Oil

Marula Oil is rich in essential fatty acids Omega 6 & 9, that provide an intense amount of hydration while reducing redness, healing the skin, and improving skin elasticity. Also includes a high amount of antioxidants to keep your skin looking 100%.

2. Cucumber Oil

Cucumber Oil contains a natural cooling effect that helps to soothe red, irritated skin, while hydrating the skin without clogging pores.

3. Rosehip Oil

Natural essential fatty acids and anti-inflammatory properties of Rosehip Oil help prevent infection and reduce over production of sebum. Plus it helps fade existing acne scars at a rapid rate.

4. Geranium Oil

Geranium is great for oily, congested skin types because it helps regulate sebum production - (over production of sebum makes for an ideal environment for acne causing bacteria) It also promoted blood circulation and tightens skin, which helps to heal acne scars.

5. Tea Tree Oil

Most people know Tea Tree Oil is good for acne and blemishes because of it's antibacterial properties, but they don't understand how to use it. The key to applying Tea Tree Oil effectively is to mix it with other oils, otherwise it can be too harsh to apply directly to acne. If not used correctly, it can dry out the skin which in turns causes your body to create more sebum, which causes acne.

6. Vitamin E

Vitamin E Oil works to block free radicals from entering the body through the skin, which plays a large role in aging. It also helps to heal the skin and fade scarring.

We blended all these super oils into a formula that quite frankly, blew our minds. The results we got from our Clarifying Oil blend, made us throw away our moisturizer, and made us proud to walk out of the house without makeup :)

If you've struggled with finding a moisturizer that works for acne prone skin, try Clarifying Face Oil. You won't be dissapointed!
